Sources: (1) Margie Rembold told me that Charles Kraus did remarry after Bertha. She didn't remember the woman's name, though. (2) She and Charles were staying with the Misners on their farm in St. Matthews in order to have their baby there. But Bertha died in childbirth at the farm. (3) Grandma was raised by the Misners on their potato farm until she was about 9 or 10 years old. Then her father took her to live with him. She returned off and on over the next few years.
