Sources:
(1) I have that he was born in New York, but I don't see any source for that. Maybe it came from the internet without a 
source. 
(2) Family lore says James died in an earthquake in San Francisco, but we have no other proof than that of where and when he 
died. There are many unofficial deaths from that earthquake. Ronny Bodine said, "With regard to Davis being killed in 
the SF Earthquake, there is no Davis listed in the official casualty list and no James Davis who died in California in 
April 1906." See Josephine's notes for more on this. 
(3) Josephine was unmarried in the 1900 Census of Manhattan (household of Henry Earaskon), NY. She was widow in the 1910 
Census of San Francisco, CA (household of Margaret Earickson). Florence was born August 19, 1902 in 
California.

(5) We have not found where she died or was buried. I am just guessing, but she may have remarried and we would need her new 
last name to find her.
