Obituary, Shelbina (MO) Democrat of Wed., 26 April 1911.
Miss Kate Bodine died at the home of W. E. Fladers last Friday morning at the age of seventy years and the remains were buried Saturday afternoon following funeral services by Rev. Allen at the home. Deceased was a daughter of the late Addison Bodine and wife, pioneers of the town and of the county, and was a sister of Hon. R. S. Bodine, Alfred Bodine, R. E. Bodine of Memphis, and Mrs. W. E. Flanders, with whom she made her home. She was a woman of fine mind, being for many years a teacher in the Paris schools, and will be remembered lovingly by a host of men and women who knew her as children. The latter years of her life were devoted to her sister's family and she grew old beautifully ministering to little children, all of whom, in and out of the home, were attracted to her. She went to sleep with the love of the town and was one of its finest, sweetest and most wholesome characters.
