Martin Bodine lived from 1860 until his death in Paris, Monroe County where he was engaged in the dry goods business. On 24 Nov 1864 in Paris, Missouri, he enlisted as a Sergeant in Capt. E. G. B. McNutt's Monroe County Provisional Company of Enrolled Missouri Militia, was mustered in 20 Dec 1864 and served for 47 days. In 1900, he reported that in 42 years of marriage, his wife, Melissa, had borne 5 children of whom 3 were then living.
