Jackson L. "Jack" Snyder, 72, of Knoxville, Tenn., formerly of Madison, died Saturday, May 12, 2007, at his residence.

He was born in Madison, the son of Howard and Marjorie McKay Snyder. He was a member of the Fountain City United Methodist Church. He retired from TVA after 27 years of service as an electrical engineer.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sally Bodine Snyder; one daughter, Suzanne McKay Snyder; one son, Frederick Larimore Snyder; two sisters, Frances Carver and Elizabeth Dyce; three brothers, John Horner, Edward Horner and Fred Horner; one granddaughter; one aunt; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration service was held at 7 p.m. May 17 at Fountain City United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Madison later.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Fountain City Ministries, 5364 North Broadway, Knoxville, TN 37918.

Gentry-Griffey Chapel in Fountain City, Tenn., was in charge of arrangements.
