Notes for: John Joshua Bodine

This boy was shown as age 13 on the 1860 Orange County, Texas Census. It is not known how much longer he lived. According to family tradition, he was said to have died much earlier, but such was obviously not true. It is not known if he drowned in Orange or in San Augustine County, but indications are that it could have been either. It does appear that the family might have been back in San Augustine County in the early 1860's. This is when Nancy Holly married James Sanders and William R. joined the CSA.
