Notes for: Albert Charley Bodine
He was adopted by the C. C. Moore family in Weatherford, Parker County in 1914, a short time after the death of his mother. He served in the US Navy and had obtained the rate of fireman, first class, at the time of his death. He was first interred on an island in the South Pacific. Later he was removed to a Military Cemetery near El Paso. Information about this individual has been provided by his sister and a sister-in-law.
From Ronny Bodine:
He served in the US Navy and had obtained the rate of fireman, first class, at the time of his death. He was first interred on an island in the South Pacific. Later he was removed to the Fort Bliss National Cemetery at El Paso. His grave marker records his name as Albert Charley Moore and his date of birth as 10 May 1911. As this would be in conflict with his elder brother also born in 1911, the year should read 1912. In the "State Summary of War Casualties from World War II for Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard Personnel," [Archival Research Catalog]; Records of the Bureau of Naval Personnel, California, p. 61, the entry reads: "Moore, Albert Charley, Watertender 2c. USN. Father Mr. Charley Chase Moore, Rt. 3, Thermal."
