Notes for: Joseph R. Bodine
Information on had come from census records and from family tradition. In 1992, more information about his death was found in the R. Blake Collection in the library of the SFA University in Nacogdoches, Texas. His brother, John, was wounded in the same action but did survive and return to San Augustine to raise a family. Joseph was said to have been killed just south of Jonesboro and was buried in that area.
