Notes for: Samuel ("Sammie") Perry Bodine, Jr.

The bulk of information about this family was provided by Willard Durwood Bodine during the 1980's. At that time, he and his wife were living in the Corpus Christi area of Texas. When this couple married, he was seventeen and she was fourteen.

From Ronny Bodine:

In 1920, the Sam Bodine family was living in Limestone County engaged in farming. In 1930, Lena Bodine, age 30, now divorced, was living in Limestone County with 5 children. Her death was recorded in Limestone County as Lena B. Bodine. Emma Beasley was the daughter of John R. and Susie (Wheeler) Beasley.

S. P. Bodine, father of two Corpus Christi men, died at 5 p.m. yesterday in a Dallas hospital after a long illness. He was a resident of Teague, in Freestone County. He was the father of William W. Bodine of 5002 Wooldridge and Durwood Bodine of 3222 Casa Blanca. Funeral services will be held Monday in Teague, with burial in Coolidge.
