Notes for: Martha ("Mattie") Epps

It appears this Mattie was Martha Luizza Epps, a sister of the Thomas Epps who lived at Oakwood, and that her mother's name was Nancy. It also appears that the family was located in Navarro or Freestone County at the time that she and John Bodine married; even though the marriage occurred in Leon County. She was widowed by the early death of John and then married William Turner in 1908 in Dallas County. Per info received from a decendant, John slipped and fell. As a result of this fall, he died at an earlier age than he should have.
