On June 30, 2023, Taylor Matthew Bodine, Jr. entered the Kingdom of Heaven at the young age of 18 years old. Our lives were blessed beyond imagination when Matthew was born in Orlando, FL on October 15, 2004. He was the first child of Taylor and Cindy Bodine who both grew up in West Orange County. Matthew attended the Christ School for his primary education and then West Orange High School where he graduated in 2023. Matthew entered college summer semester at the University of North Florida and had completed his first week of classes. He had several passions that started early in his life: God, family, service, Minecraft, cars, trains, boats, Legos, shoes, fashion, art, music, and games. We will miss Matthew dearly and he will never be forgotten. Everyone was drawn to Matthew, and his bigger than life personality. Once he touched your life, you were forever changed. We love you, Matthew, and we know Heaven is now an even brighter place with you occupying a place with our Lord. He is survived by his parents Taylor and Cindy Bodine, and his brother Luke Bodine; his grandparents Richard, Sr. and Linda McCree. of Orlando, FL; his grandparents Byron and Norma Sutton of Windermere, FL, and Harlie and Susan Bodine of Quitman, GA; and aunts, uncles, and cousins Richard, Jr., Tannis Katie, Trip, and Brook McCree; Marnie McCree and Tommy and Marilyn Waldrop; Harlie, Lianna, Daniel, Hendrikje, Anneke, and Annalise Bodine; and Eric, Elizabeth, Elliott, and Garrett Sutton. A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Orlando, 106 E Church St, Orlando, FL 32801 on Friday, July 14, 2023, at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to First Presbyterian Church of Orlando in support of Student Ministries in memory of Matthew.
It is with deep regret that I must share news of the passing of Matthew Bodine. Matthew is the eldest son of Taylor Bodine, and grandson of longtime Town of Windermere residents and Rotary members, Byron and Norma Sutton. Matthew is a 2023 graduate of West Orange High School. He was attending the University of North Florida and was involved in a motor vehicle accident the evening of Friday, June 30th on his drive home to Town. The Town of Windermere is deeply saddened by the passing of Matthew and I ask that all residents lift up and remember the entire Sutton family during this incredibly difficult time.
