Notes for: Herbert ("Bert") Lee Bodine

Bert was living in the community of Flo in Leon County, Texas. He managed for several years after the death of his wife, Essie, but finally decided to move near the home of his daughter when he was almost ninety. His son, Jim, informed me that he died on May 25, 2001 at 7:20 PM in Fairfield, Freestone County, Texas.

Jim sent me the picture below. It was taken a little before Herbert died in May of 2001. Standing left to right are Joe Bodine, Betty Bodine [Joe's wife], J. R. Lane, Jean (Lane) Bodine [Jim's wife], Joyce (Bodine) Lane [J. R.'s wife], and Jim Bodine. Herbert is seated.

Note: Joe, Joyce, and Jim are Herbert's children.
