Notes for: George Roberts Bodine

Ronny agrees that the George R. Bodine he found all the following information on must be George Robert Bodine, the son of Frederick Bodine.

From Ronny Bodine (Sept. 13, 2020):

George Roberts Bodine was named in his father's will of 9 Jan 1875, but there is no indication that his father knew whether his son was alive or not. The distance between Wellsboro, Pennsylvania and Fort Scott, Kansas is 1,200 miles and it seems clear from the will that George's brother, Frederick, was the preferred heir to the family farm. One other family member is found at Fort Scott. Catherine A. Bodine, daughter of George's uncle, Ellis Milton Bodine, was married at Fort Scott in November 1863, the same year that George Bodine is first recorded there.
