On 5 June 1917, Dock Johnson registered for the World War I Draft in Monmouth Co., New Jersey. He reported he was born 5 Aug 1886 in Scotland Neck, North Carolina, worked as a mail handler for N.J. C.R.R., and was married.
On 12 Sept 1918, Dock Charles Johnson registered again for the World War I Draft in Monmouch Co. reporting he was born 5 Aug 1885, worked for the Matawan Brick Co. and named Minthan Johnson as his next of kin.

Matawan---Dock Johnson, 62, died suddenly at his home, 11 Main St., Sunday. Mr. Johnson was employed for many years by the New York and Long Branch Railroad at the Matawan station. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Monthaw Johnson. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Bedle Funeral Home.

New York---Miss Minthaw Johnson, 63, Texas Rd., Matawan, N.J., suffered a fractured leg when she fell down an escalator in Pennsylvania Station, late Wednesday. She was taken to St. Vincent's Hospital where she is reported in fair condition.
