Notes for: Gerrit van der Waal

The descendants of Gerrit van der Waal in Holland would be the most closely related to the American Vander Waal / VanderWaal familes of this line since they share the exact same male and female ancestors. Gerrit is the full brother of the Arie van der Waal who emigrated to America.

And of all of Gerrit's children, Aart Gerbrand van der Waal seems to be the one with the most surviving van der Waal descendants. In 1888, he married Janna Jacoba van der Wilt (1866-1951). They and their descendants seem to be heavily concentrated in the Nieuw-Beijerland and Oud-Beijerland towns of the province of South Holland in the Netherlands. There are also some in the city of Rotterdam.
