Notes for: Albert T. Vanderwaal
An announcement of his death is in the Pella Booster Press of December 11, 1918. It says that he had been killed in action on November 1. He is listed as the son of Arthur Vander Waal and his wife who is a Tysseling (obvious from the wording).

Albert T Vanderwaal, son of Nettie A and Aart Vanderwaal, was killed in action by machine gun fire, Nov 1, 1918, at Waergeem, Belgium. He was first class Private with Co A 348th Machine Gun Battalion. He entered the service from Sioux County ND, May 24th, 1918. He was engaged in farming until he entered the service. He was buried at Grave No 160, Plot C American Military Cemetery No 1252, Waerghem, West Flanders.
