Joan Vandermark went to be with her Savior February 8, 2022, surrounded by family after a brief illness. Born in Walton, NY on March 16, 1935, Joan was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Dewey M. Vandermark whom she married December 26, 1953; her parents Paul W. Budine and Angelica R. Pickwick Budine Vining Booth; brother Donald P. Budine, sister-in-law Cindy Budine, brother Theodore H. Budine; sister, Joyce B. Scott, brother-in-law Frank Scott; her son Benjamin Vandermark and grandson Robert Stetson. Joan was a graduate of Walton High School Class of '52. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Walton, NY and had an amazing faith, and great love of family and friends. She loved all unconditionally. She spent most of her life as a homemaker and loved country music, nature, sunrises, sunsets, flowers and birds. Hobbies included gardening, photography and painting. She looked forward to attending the Delaware County Fair each year, worked at the Walton Historical Society booth, where she served some time on the board of directors. Many years she submitted her paintings and photographs at the fair and won ribbons in those categories. She was also a member of the Deposit VFW Women's Auxiliary. Joan is survived by her daughters Teri Stetson (Tim), Tanya Hitt (Bill), Tina Vandermark, Toni Gilbertsen (Walt) and Traci Vandermark; daughter in-law Emily Banks Vandermark; her grandsons BJ Hitt (Laura), Shane Biggar (Sara), Josh Biggar (Lillie Fields) and Tim Stetson (Julia); granddaughters Laura Conroy (Matt), Angelica Biggar, Rachel Hollen (George), Joy Trimbell (Mike Giannicchi); great grandchildren Jessica, Robert, Eric and Chloe Van Laer; Paige and Brandon Hitt; Alexis Chapman; Christian and Landon Hollen; Sean and Solomon Biggar and Rowan Giannicchi. Friend Jerry Trimbell; her sister Susan V. Truesdale; and many beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A graveside service to celebrate Joan's life will be held on Friday, May 13, 2022, at 11 A.M. at Walton Cemetery, 55 Fancher Avenue, Walton. Special thanks to Helios Care for their kindness and care.
