All information about this family was found in the 1900 Soundex of Texas and from information provided by Mrs. A. V. Stanfield of Lamesa, Texas. The circumstances of this family are unknown, but these children are believed to have been placed with other families in Shelby County. The census location is v. 90, ED 86, sh 15, line 60 of the 1900 Shelby County Census. The oldest child was a son. Due to the poor quality of the census, it was impossible to make a definite determination of his name. It may have been Sam or Don.
