Clute's "Old Families of Staten Island" says that William and Edmund composed the firm of Bodine Brothers (p. 10).

William H. Bodine AND Nettie Swan were married 12 June 1889 in Kings County.
William Bodine was bapt. 26 Dec 1824 at the Dutch Reformed Church of Port Richmond and was buried 11 Dec 1894 in the Moravian Church Cemetery, Richmond County. He entered the merchantile business in 1841, carrying on a general business in building materials and fuel. He was a stockholder and director of the Richmond County Gas Company in 1887 and served as President of the Village of New Brighton for a six-year term (Bayles, Richard, "History of Richmond County," 1887, p. 503-504). M. J. was living as a widow 1900 in Richmond County, recorded as Mrs. M. J. Bodine. She reported she had borne 3 children of who 2 were then living. Mehitable Bodine remarried and was buried in the Moravian Church Cemetery as Mehitable J. Harrison.
