Clayton--LaVere E. Bordine, age 63, of Dover Street, Clayton, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2002, at his residence after a period of failing health. He was born Feb. 6, 1939, at Manitou Beach, Mich., the son of Ellsworth V. and Viola E. (Kline) Bordine. He was a lifelong resident of Manitou Beach and Clayton and had served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a former employee of the Martin-Marietta Corp/ in Adrian and the Wyman-Gordon Co. in Jackson. He enjoyed gardening. He is survived by his wife, the former Ellen May Palmer; his children, LaVonn (Robin) Moyer of Adrian, Deborah (Timmie) Ragless of Clayton, Charles Bordine of Clayton and Gordon (Amy) Bordine of Saginaw; nine grandchildren; one sister, Barbara (Gerald) Linnaberry of Richardson, Texas; his mother-in-law, Nina Palmer of Manitou Beach, and by his extended family...(balance of obituary is missing.)

ADRIAN - Ellen May Bordine , age 67, of Adrian, formerly of Clayton, passed away Friday, July 18, 2014, at ProMedica Bixby Hospital in Adrian. She was born May 7, 1947, the daughter of Ralph and Nina (Shiffler) Palmer. Ellen lived in Clayton for many years before moving to Adrian six years ago. She married LaVere E. Bordine who preceded her in death on March 13, 2002. She enjoyed gardening, reading, quilting, crocheting and painting. Surviving are her children, LaVonn Bordine of Adrian, Deborah (Tim) Ragless of Adrian, Gordon (Sandra) Bordine of Toledo and Peggy (Terry) McMunn of Onsted; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; her sister, Rose Irene Jones of Adrian; and many extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Charles; a grandchild, Ashley Cox; a sister, Doris McPherson; and a brother, Kenneth Roy Palmer. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2014, at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Hudson. Interment will be made in the North Dover Cemetery at Clayton.
