Notes for: John Orie Bordine

Rae Lynn and Brian may be children from Karen's previous marriage to a McKee. That needs clarifying. They both now go by Bordine and call John their father, though.

Obituary, J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Ann Arbor, MI.
John Orie Bordine age 73, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on March 2, 2022 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Ann Arbor, MI. John was born on April 2, 1949 the son of the late Orie and Elaine (Jasper) Bordine. He graduated from Milan High School in 1967. John began his career 4 days after graduation, working at Ford Motor Company in Saline where he retired in 2007. After retirement John went on to work at Dundee Community Schools transportation department leaving for medical reasons. John married the love of his life Karen (Eagle) Bordine on July 22, 1978 where the two of them blended their families. John was a big fan of the Michigan Wolverines and looked forward to watching football/basketball. He also was also a supporter of the Dundee Wrestling and most recently got to enjoy watching the Vikings win their 5th straight State Title. He was also a fan of any sport that his grandchildren participated in. "PAPA" was their biggest fan. John loved working in the transportation department, so he could drive his grandchildren when they had field trips or sporting events. John is survived by his wife, Karen of 43 years; children, Joan Marie Hope Kanaley of Monroe, Scott (Tammy) Bordine of Onsted, Rae Lynn (Mike) Desbrough of Monroe, Brian (Amiee) Bordine of Dundee; 17 Grandchildren, Shane, Shaunna, Shelby, Eric, Brandon, Ryan, Austin, Colton, Briley, Vada, Emily, Amanda, Josh, Patrick, Breanna, Mike and Destiny; 13 Great-Grandchildren, Julien, Kai, Colton, David, Elijah, Micah, Henry, Kaynen, Hartlee, Haylee, Rylee, Avery and Emma; Brother, David Bordine; Sisters, Connie (Ron) Phillips, Cathy Bordine; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Orie and Elaine and infant sister Joan Marie. Upon John's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of life was held Sunday March 6, 2022 at the Dundee Veterans Memorial.

Based upon the birthdates for children Rae Lynn and Brian Alan, they appear to have been adopted as both bear the name Bordine and refer to John Bodine as their father.
