1940 (8 April) East Stroudsburg, Monroe Co.: George BODINE 55 PA, Henrietta 65 PA wife.
On 11 Sept 1918, George Bodine, of East Stroudsburg, registered for the World War 1 draft in Monroe County, Pa. He stated he was born 28 Jan 1883, worked as a railroad brakeman, and that his mother, Mrs. Anna Bodine of Lackawanna, was his next of kin. In 1942, George Bodine, of East Stroudsburg, Pa. registered for the World War II draft and reported he was born 27 Jan 1885 in Scranton, Pa. and Mrs. G. Bodine was his next of kin.

George Bodine, 62, died Tuesday at 1:30 p.m., at his home, 465 N. Portland St., East Stroudsburg, following an illness of six years. A trainman of the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western railroad, he retired in 1939 due to ill health. A native of Scranton, he resided in Stroudsburg 40 years. A member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, he had also been employed by the Susquehanna Railroad 10 years. Surviving are his wife, Henrietta (Bush) Bodine, two brothers, William Bodine, Waverly, and John Bodine, Rutherford, N.J. Funeral services Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in the Mrs. J. H. Lanterman and Sons funeral home, East Stroudsburg, with Rev. E. E. Kublick, pastor of Mennonite church, Stroudsburg, officiating. Interment in Analomink cemetery.

Mrs. Henrietta B. Bodine, 78, of 440 Chester St., East Stroudsburg, died at her home at 7:30 a.m. yesterday. The widow of George Bodine, she had been in failing health for three months and serious for three days. She was a lifelong resident of East Stroudsburg. Her only survivor is a sister, Mrs. Nettie Slack, Wyoming, Pa. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Lanierman Funeral Home. Rev. William F. Wunder will officiate and burial will be in Analomink Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today.
