On 6 Sept 1918, Edmund Charles Gibson registered for the World War 1 draft in Owego Township, Tioga County. He stated he was born 16 Sept 1880, worked as a carpenter for the U.S. Government and his next of kin was Mrs. Mabel L. Gibson.

Owego--Mrs. Mabel Louise Gibson, 64, wife of Edmund Gibson, died late yesterday afternoon of a heart attack at her home in Apalachin. Tioga County Coroner Kennedy F. Rubert issued a verdict of death from natural causes. The body was removed to Emens Funeral Chapel, Front Street, Owego. Mrs. Gibson was born May 29, 1883, in the Town of Owego, the daughter of William and Emeline Bills Berdine. Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Elton Hulbert of Owego and Mrs. Harold Stewart of Endicott; a brother, Ralp Berdine of Scipio Center, and three grandchildren.

Owego--Edmund C. Gibson, 70, formerly of Apalachin, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Elton Hulbert at 208 East Temple Street yesterday morning. Mr. Gibson, a retired carpenter, was born in Apalachin Sept. 16, 1880, the son of George and Julia Racrent Gibson. He was an honorary member and former chief of the Apalachin Fire Department and a member of the Apalachin Grange. The body was removed to the VanBuskirk Funeral Home in Front Street where friends may call Friday from 7 to 9 p. m. Funeral services will be held there Saturday at 3 p. m. The Rev. Edgar Frank, pastor of the Owego Presbyterian Union Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Apalachin. Mr. Gibson is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Hulbert and Mrs. Harold Stewart of Endicott; two brothers, Clayton and Raymond Gibson, both of Apalachin; three grandchildren and one greatgrandchild.
