Mrs. Edith Pearl Berdine of 602 Division street, died at the Oregon City Hospital Thursday morning following an illness of about six months. Mrs. Berdine, daughter of Henry and Helen Shipley, Oregon Pioneers, was born at Oswego April 18, 1888. For several years following her marriage to Mr. Berdine she made her home at Forest Grove, later coming back to Oregon City, where she had resided for 19 years. She was a member of the local Christian Church. Mrs. Berdine is survived by her widower, Harry Berdine; two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Doris Kathleen) McCormick and Sylvia Eileen Berdine, Oregon City; besides her sisters and brother, Miss Ruth Shipley, Mrs. Mary Pollock, Portland, Mrs. Leo (Elizabeth) Anderson, Molalla, Mrs. Peter (Alice) Gorley, Los Angles, and Frank Shipley, Willamette. Funeral services will be held at the Oregon City Funeral Home Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Howard Hutchins, pastor of the Christian Church officiating. Internment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery.
