Notes for: Andrew (Auke / Ouke) Jansen

His family eventually used the name Van Nuys.

There is a query about him in the Somerset County Historical Quarterly, vol. 3, no. 1, p. 79. It says Andrew (or Andres) Jansen's children were Andrew, Martha, Maria, Adriandne (or Adrinatje), Henry 1st, Mindred, Hannah, Abraham, Dinah, and Henry 2nd.

Subject: re: Barbara Jansen/JOHNSON

I believe this lady, Barbara Jansen, d/o Auke/Ouke Jansen/Johnson was the second wife of Lukas Blelleau and the first wife of Matheus Aereson. I have yet to bring up the marriages and documents, but will try to get back to you when I do.

I am still seeking the baptism of the son William who was a brother to Barbara; the Ouke/Auken named children eventually with the Abrahams and Williams seem to have made it to Hampshire, Virginia and the Patterson Grant which was part of Patterson Mannor of Fairfax. We have entered a DNA profile in the JOHNSON surname for possible matches to Somerset entries.

In the will of Catherine and Ouke Johnson written in 1852, another son mentioned, David; no mention of others in the JOHNSON online files that reflect the surname of VAN NUYES............which appears to be the root of JENSEN.

Regards,
Linda
