Leslie E. Bodine, 59, well-known country western radio disc jockey at station WBZI, Xenia, died Monday at 6:20 p.m. in Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton. He had been ill since September and was admitted to the hospital Nov. 26. Mr. Bodine, who lived at 2045 Pershing Blvd., Dayton, had been associated with the radio profession for over 40 years. With the Xenia station since 1965, he was a dean of radio personalities and was a disc jockey on the first Dayton radio station WSMK. Prior to working at WBZI, he had been the "hillbilly" disc jockey with WING. He also had been leader of The Widwesterners, a country western swing band. Born in Russellville, Ky., June 22, 1910, he is survived by his widow, Elsie; one daughter, Mrs. Barbara Ziegler of Louisville, Ky.; one brother, Earl Bodine of Dayton, and 12 grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
