Mattie Ruth Burdine, age 84, of Knoxville, passed away on Monday, March 29, 2004, at 11:50 a.m. at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Knoxville and was retired from House-Hasson. Preceded in death by parents, Wesley and Luvenie Burdine; sister, Marybelle Burdine; and brothers, Ben, Tim and John Burdine. She is survived by sisters-in-law, Mildred B. Tarwater of Rockford and Lucy M. Burdine of Michigan; several nieces, nephews and special friends. Friends may call at their convenience on Tuesday from 12 Noon until 8 p.m. at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway. Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m on Wednesday for graveside services at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery with her nephew, Rev. Chris Cupp officiating.
