MISSOULA - Nadine Magee, 75, of Missoula, died Tuesday, March 23, 1999, at the Village Health Care Center of natural causes. Nadine was born on Jan. 12, 1924, to Ralph and Gertrude Lefler in Gannvalley, S.D. She was raised and educated in South Dakota. In 1941, Nadine was married to Lester J. Berdine in Woonsocket, S.D. In 1957 she moved to Billings. In 1959 she was married to Lawrence Magee in Hamilton. The couple made their home in Missoula. Her greatest love was her family. She loved to cook and be with her family, especially during Christmas. Her home was somewhat small but never too small to include all of her family and she always was able to make room for one more. She loved to read, go to garage sales, gather antiques, play Yahtzee and do a little gambling. She also enjoyed going shopping with her sisters, Muff and Jean. Nadine received great pleasure from going to the Washington coast to visit her children who live there. Survivors include her mother, Gertrude P. Lefler of Billings; husband, Lawrence of the family home in Missoula; three sons, Jim Berdine and his wife Trudy of Missoula, Ralph Berdine and his wife Dorothy of Sequim, Wash., and Larry Magee Jr. and his wife Penny of Sequim; three daughters, René and her husband Ron Smith of Helena, Bonnie and her husband Ken Hagen of Superior and Kathy and her husband Lloyd Yada of Sequim; two brothers, Bill Lefler of Missoula and Bob Lefler and his wife Bobbi of Laurel; two sisters, Muff Lefler of Port Angeles, Wash., and Jean and her husband Leonard Knutson of Billings; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Michael Roy Berdine; father Ralph A. Lefler; and brother Van Lefler. Private family interment services will take place at Missoula City Cemetery. The family would like to invite friends to join them at a celebration of Nadine's life at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 27 at the family's home, 740 Longstaff. Arrangements are under the direction and care of The Malletta Family of Funeral Homes, Sunset Chapel.
