Miss. Adelaide Johnson Berdine, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Berdine and Rev. Lucas Boeve, of Lebanon, N. J., were married this afternoon at 5 o'clock at the home of Prosecutor and Mrs. George Berdine, on Livingston avenue. The wedding, although a quiet affair, was a very pretty one. Miss Berdine wore a handsome bridal gown of white in which she looked charmlng. There were no bridal attendants. The ceremony was performed by Rev. P. T. Pockman, pastor of the First Reformed church, assisted by Rev. Mr Dawson, the son-in-law of John Voorhees, of Livingston.
On 12 Sept 1918, Lucas Boeve registered for the World War 1 draft in Westchester County, New York. He reported he was born 7 Feb 1875, was a reformed Church Clergyman and Adelaide Boeve was his next of kin.

The Rev. Dr. Lucas Boeve, widely known and beloved pastor of the historic First Dutch Church, died suddenly at the parsonage on Main street this afternoon of a heart attack, aged 60 years. Dr. Boeve was suddenly taken ill about 3 o'clock this morning at his home. He was called to become pastor of the local church in April of 1922, and assumed his duties here in May of that year. The Rev. Dr. Boeve succeeded the late Rev. James L. Leeper as pastor of the First Dutch Church of this city. He was born In Iowa and attended the Northwestern Classical Academy at Orange City, Iowa. He also attended Hope College In Holland, Michigan and then attended the New Brunswick Theological Seminary in 1906. His first pastorate was in Lebanon, N.J., and later accepted a call to the North Reformed Church in Newark. N. J., where he served as pastor from 1910 to 1914. From Newark he was called to become pastor of the Second Reformed Church in Tarrytown. He served the Tarrytown Church untl 1922 when he was called to become pastor of the church here. In 1925 Rutgers College and Hope College both conferred on him the degree of D.D. During the past 12 years that Dr. Boeve served the First Dutch Church as its pastor he has been very active in the religious life of the city. He was in great demand as a speaker at various banquets in the city, and was noted as a forceful and eloquent preacher of the Gospel. He was a man of genial personality and noted for his ability and learning. Dr. Boeve was deeply interested in the Kiwanis Club of the city and for years had been one of its most active members. He was also active in the Kingston Ministerial Association. Dr. Boeve was born at Pellar, Iowa, on February 9, 1874. He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Adelaide Berdine; one son, Lucas Boeve, Jr., of Flushing, L. I., two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Boeve Joy and Miss Elizabeth Boeve of this city.

The funerel of Mrs. Lucas Boeve of Arlington, Va. who died Saturday, will be held at the First Dutch Reformed Church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in Wiltwyck cemetery. Mrs. Boeve was born September 25,1882, at New Brunswick, N. J., the daughter of Monroe H. and Ella Van Nortwick Berdine and was married to the late Rev. Lucas Boeve in 1906 while he was pastor of the Reformed Church at Lebanon, N. J. She resided in Lebanon until 1910 and then moved to Newark, N. J., and Tarrytown where she lived until 1922. Mrs. Boeve than moved to this city and remained here until 1935 when she left for Arlington, Va., to live with her daughter, Mrs. Bernard D. Joy, at which residence she died. Mrs. Boeve is survived by one son, Lucas Boeve, Jr., of New Rochelle; two daughters, Mrs. Barnard D. Joy of Arlington, Va., and Mrs. S. Gordon Watts of Jenkintown Pa.; nine grandchildren, Jean, Betty, Barnard, Jr., A. Gordon Joy, Elizabeth, Richard Watts. Lucas 3rd, Peter and Christopher Boeve; and one sister, Mrs. Harvey Bruce of Cleveland, O. A memorial service was held in Arlington Sunday evening.
