Notes for: Robert de Wycliffe
The name of this Wycliffe comes from a Wycliffe pedigree in The History of Yorkshire; Wapentake of Gilling West, by Marshall General Plantagenet Harrison (1885). I don't know where Harrison got this information. I can only assume it is guesswork on his part from looking at old records. Harrison's pedigree seems to be the only one that goes back this far; so I will go with it for now.
About this Robert de Wycliffe, the pedigree says "Sir Robert de Wycliffe, Knight, Lord of Wycliffe, against whom Eudo fil Norman de Hoton claimed twenty acres of land with the appurtenances in Wycliffe, 7 Edward I [abt 1279]; in which year he joined with Matilda his wife and Roger fil Laurence de Belise in the sale of lands in Belise. In 9 Edward I [abt 1281], he was one of the jury at the trial of a plea between Hugh de Aske, plaintiff, and Hugh fil Henry de Ravensworth, defendant, touching 800 acres of moor in the manor of Marrick. Was one of the jury at the inquisition taken at Richmond in the 10th Edward I [abt 1282] touching the extant of the Honor of Richmond. Witness to a deed by which Margaret, who was the wife of Galfred de Neville, feoffed John de Lovetot of the manor of Hoton Longvillers for certain uses, 16 Edward I [abt 1288]. He was a man-at-arms in the Scotish wars temp. Edward I [1272-1307], and was the Lord of Ulvington in Richmondshire in right of his wife. Died before the 30th Edward I [abt 1302]." He married "Matilda, daughter and heir of Roger fil Laurence de Belise by his wife Matilda, daughter and heir of William fil Arnold de Ulvington, a widow 30 Edward I [abt 1302]."
Note: What I understand about Robert's wife Matilda from the above is that Matilda's mother's name was Matilda de Ulvington, but I'm guessing a little since the wording is not that clear. Since Robert became Lord of Ulvington by right of his wife, then that would also favor this interpretation.
Here is a message I recieved which might apply to this family, but that is only a wild guess:

Subject: Parentage of Agnes (Ann) Wycliffe
Hello David: I am writing to ask if you may have an idea as to the parentage of a certain Agnes (Ann) Wycliffe. She married a Robert Tyrwhitt. This Robert was about 21 years of age in 1322. She is said to be a daughter of a William Wycliffe of Wycliffe in Yorkshire.
