Notes for: Anthony Wycliffe

This family comes from An History of Richmondshire, in the North Riding of the County of York; together with those parts of the Everwicschire of Domesday which form The Wapentakes of Lonsdale, Ewecross, and Amunderness, in the Counties of York, Lancaster, and Westmoreland, by Thomas Dunham WHITAKER. London: Longman, Hurst, Rees (and others), 1823. 2 volumes. Here is the info given there on this family:

3. Anthony
and
4. Francis;
both living and had issue in 1610.

This is the Anthony Wycliffe that Anne Musser says was the father of the American Bodines:
David Wyckliffe m. Jane __________ (4 children)
David Wyckliffe m. Mary Sisson (4 children)
Isaac Wyckliffe m. Elizabeth Cullen (2 children)

Linda Vears says the father of the David who came to America was either Thomas or Anthony. She says that David Wickliffe I was "the first immigrant Wickliffe who came to America on the Evelin Expedition with Robert Evelin in 1635 on The ship the Plain Joan. David I's wife was Jane Evers (AKA Eure or Ewer)."

From England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975:
