Notes for: Charles Edward Bodine

Charles Bodine, age 6 in June 1850 and age 16 in June 1860 lived with his parents in Hamilton County. He appears to have lied about his age when he, as Charles E. Bodine, age 19, enlisted on 17 May 1861 at Camp Clay in Company G, 2nd Kentucky Infantry Regiment (USA) and was mustered out 21 Aug 1861. He enlisted 13 Sept 1862 as a Private in Company A, 83rd Ohio Infantry and was promoted to Corporal on 26 Aug 1863, was reduced to the ranks on 21 July 1864 and died of disease on 29 June 1865 in Galveston, Texas.
