Notes for: James Madison Bodine

In June 1860, James Bodine, age 27, lived with his parents in Anderson, Hamilton County where he worked as a school teacher. On 6 May 1861 at Pendleton, Ohio, James Bodine enlisted in Company G, 2nd Kentucky Infantry Regiment (USA) as a Captain. He was wounded 7 April 1862 at Pittsburg Landing, Tennessee and placed on detached service. On 19 Sept 1863 at the Battle of Chickamauga he was mortally wounded and died on 21 Sept.
