Notes for: Myrtle J. Bodine

Her birth year could be off by a couple of years since she is listed under her sister (supposedly 16 years old) in the 1920 Census of Moline, IL (Myrtle is supposedly 18). Or her sister could be 19 and Myrtle 18.

I see that the 1910 Census probably clears this up. Myrtle is listed as 8 and is above her sister who is 6.

Mr. and Mrs. Edmund A. Erickson celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on Sunday. They married 18 June 1924 in Moline. Mrs. Erickson is the former Myrtle Bodine.

On 16 Feb 1942, Edmund August Erickson of Moline, Illinois registered for the World War II Draft. he reported he was born 25 Nov 1897 in Rock Island Co., IL, worked at the Rock Island Arsenal and named Mrs. mJulius Nelson as his next of kin.

Edmund A. Erickson, 75, of 1919 24th St., Moline, died this morning in Lutheran Hospital after a brief illness. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Esterdahl Chapel with Dr. Marvin L. Raymond officiating. Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memorial Estates. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Mr. Erickson was born in Rock Island. He married Myrtle J. Bodine June 18, 1924, in Moline. He was a machinist employed at the Rock Island Arsenal for 20 years, retiring in 1962. Surviving are a widow; a daughter, Mrs. Eugene W. Boyer, Moline; a son, Reid E. Erickson, Maquoketa, Iowa; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a sister, Mrs. Julius Nelson of Rock Island; and a brother, Elmer Erickson of Davenport.

Services for Myrtle J. Erickson, 84, of 1919 24th St., Moline, will be 1 p.m. Friday at Wendt Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memorial Estate. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. today. memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline, of which she was a member. She died Tuesday at Moline Lutheran Hospital. Myrtle Bodine married Edmund Erickson in 1921 in Moline. he preceded her in death. She was member of Nellie Soderstrom Circle of Kings Daughters and the K.A.T.O. Club. Survivors include a daughter Donna Boyer, Moline; a son, Reid, Osseo, Wis.; sixgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Alice Bodine, Moline.
