On 5 June 1917, Robert L. Bodine registered for the World War 1 draft in Chicago, Illinois. He reported he was born 10 Nov 1893 in Omaha, Nebraska, worked as an automobile demonstrator for the Mitchell Auto Company of Chicago, and was single. In April 1930, R. L. and Myrtle Bodine lived in Chicago where Robert worked as a Public Services Salesman and Myrtle worked as a Insurance Clerk. In 1942, Robert Lester Bodine, of Elmwood Park, registered for the World War II draft in Chicago. He reported being employed by People's Gas Light & Coke of Chicago and named Myrtle Bodine as his next of kin.

Myrtle Bodine, dau. of Frank & Ann (Jackson) Ryan, wife of Robert Bodine, died 9 July 1945 in Oak Park, Cook County, aged 46.
