In June 1900, Edward Bodine and his sister Florence lived with their uncle and aunt, Joseph and Hannah (Bodine) Cater in Liberty Township, Van Wert County, Ohio. On 5 June 1917, Edward Lawrence Bodine registered for the World War 1 draft in Putnam County, Ohio. He reported he was born 9 Nov 1890 in Kirkwood, Missouri and was unmarried. In Jan 1920, Edward Bodine, age 29 and single, worked as a hired farm laborer in Blanchard, Putnam County, Ohio. In April 1930, Edward Bodine, age 38 and single, lived with his mother and sister Ethel in Chicago and worked as a paint shader at a paint factory. In 1942, he registered for the World War 2 draft in Chicago, Illinois and named Ethel Bodine, of Chicago, his sister, as his next of kin.
