In 1910, Robert E. Bodine, age 12, lived with his grandparents, John T. and Nina Murphy, in Paden, Cherokee County, Alabama. On 12 Sept 1918, Robert E. Bodine registered for the World War I draft in Center, Cherokee County. He reported he was born 30 April 1898, that he was a farmer and Lillie Bodine, of Jamestown, Cherokee County was his next of kin. In 1920, Robert Bodine lived in Cherokee County engaged in farming and in 1930 in Rome, Floyd County, Georgia where he worked as a shipping clerk for a lumber company and Lillie worked as an operator for a pants factory.
