Notes for: Perry Raymond Bodine, Sr.
Perry Bodine grew up on a farm. He served in WW I where he was promoted in the field to sergeant. He was a good father and an honorable man. About 500 members attended his funeral. His red hair stood out, but no one called him "Red." He was quick to laugh and enjoyed a good prank even when it was on him. He had a sawmill set up on the farm in 1935. He used this to saw lumber to build a home on the farm. The original roof (metal) was still on the house as of June of 1997.
From Ronny Bodine:
Perry and Clara Bodine were buried in Brashier's Cemetery, near Arab, Marshall County. Clara was the daughter of Elija Thornton and Sarah Agnes Dorthula (Smith) Pesnell.
All of his life he was engaged in farming in Marshall County. Some 500 family members and friends attended his funeral.
