Doyal Bodine, 21, AND Paralee Compton, 19, both of Marianna, Arkansas obtained a marriage license on 9 Oct 1937. There was no marriage return.

From Lee County, Arkansas Court Records:
Parlee Bodine was divorced from Doyle Bodine by absolute decree of 4 May 1939. No children were involved.

Parlee was the daughter of James Allen and Minnie Pearl Compton.

In 1930, Pearlee Compton, age 11 and born in Mississippi, lived with her family in Texas, Lee County, Arkansas. Doyal Bodine, age 14, and born in Arkansas, lived with his mother and stepfather in the same township.

On 29 March 1939 in Lee Co., Arkansas Parlee Compton married Elmer Anthony. In 1940, Elmer Anthony, 31 and Parlee Anthony, 21, lived in Liberty Township, Lee County.

Parlee Compton Anthony applied for a SSN in Jan 1956 and reported she was born 2 July 1918 in Marianna, Lee Co., Arkansas to James A. & Climmie (Bennett) Compton. She died 2 Jan 2001. Her last residence was Marianna.

Doyle William Bodine, 81, of Grants Pass, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 1998, at Three Rivers Community Hospital's Washington campus. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements. He was born Sept. 1, 1916, at Catigap, Ark. Nearly 60 years ago, he married the former Lois Mildred Foster in Arkansas. He retired from Custom Plywood more than 20 years ago. Bodine enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Elaine Helderman of Eureka, Calif., and Vivian Gray of Grants Pass; four sons, Jimmy Bodine of Bainbridge, Wash., Odell Bodine of Junction City, Roy Bodine of Ryderwood, Wash., and Troy Bodine of Grants Pass; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Bodine was born July 18, 1922, in Oden, Ark., to Noah and Eunice Foster. Fifty years ago, she moved to Grants Pass from Arkansas.She enjoyed cooking, caring for her family, crocheting, quilting, canning, fishing and hunting. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Survivors include four sons, Jim Bodine of Bainbridge Island, Wash., Odell Bodine of Junction City, Roy Bodine of Ryderwood, Wash., and Troy Bodine of Grants Pass; two daughters, Elaine Helderman and Vivian Rice, both of Grants Pass; a sister, Virginia Atkins of Crescent City, Calif.; a brother, Brice Foster of Grants Pass; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Doyle William Bodine, died before her.
