William S. Bonar of Des Plaines
Funeral services for William S. Bonar, 81, formerly of Mount Prospect for 10 years, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, at G.L. Hills Funeral Home, 745 Graceland Ave., Des Plaines. Born April 22, 1922, in Chicago, he died Friday, Oct. 31, 2003, at Holy Family Hospital. Interment will be in Acacia Park Cemetery, Chicago. Mr. Bonar was a mechanical engineer at A.C. Spark Plug, General Motors. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a Master Mason of the Blue Lodge. In his spare time he enjoyed golfing. William was the husband of the late Vilma (nee Bodine ); stepfather of Robert (Vena) Bodine and the late Richard (Patti) Bodine ; stepgrandfather of Michael, Jeffrey, Bonnie, Gregory, Robert and Leslie; brother of the late Robert (Josephine) Bonar ; uncle of Bette Bonar and Susan (Dennis) MacDonald; great-uncle of David and Jeffrey MacDonald; and dearest friend of Hope Smith. He is also survived by many stepgreat- grandchildren. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of services Friday, at the funeral home.
