In 1930, John and Helen Wire lived in the home of Helen's parents in Potomoc, Montgomery County where he worked as a automobile machinist. When Helen married John Wire in 1934 the record of their marriage noted Helen was divorced. It seems likely that she was 1st married to John Wire, then the couple divorced and remarried in 1934.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Helen Virginia Keys, 91, of Martinsburg, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000, at her home. Born Feb. 6, 1909, in Cropley, Md., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Sarah Redden Bodine. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Fontaine Keys. She was a 1926 graduate of Eastern High School, Washington, D.C. She was retired from the U.S. government. She was of the Presbyterian faith. She was a member of Cat Fanciers Association. She is survived by a daughter, Shirley Rutherford of Martinsburg; a brother, William J. Bodine of Sebring, Fla.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Rev. Andrew L. Snelson will officiate. Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Parklawn Cemetery, Rockville, Md. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
