His Missouri death certificate (no. 1950-27999) reported he never married, was the owner of a recreation parlor, died of coronary heart disease, and was buried in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Paris. It also gives his birth date as 5 April 1873 whereas the 1900 census reports April 1875.

PARIS, Sept. 2--Henry Davis Bodine, 77, was found dead between 7 and 7:30 o'clock this morning, by his sister, Mrs. Nadine Lewis, in their home here. The son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Mast Bodine, an old and prominent Paris family, Mr. Bodine, until his retirement several years ago, operated a poolroom here. He had been in ill health for some time. His sister, with whom he lived, is the only surviving member of the family. Tentative funeral arrangements have been set for tomorrow afternoon in the Speed and Blakey Funeral Home. Burial will be in Walnut Grove cemetery.
