Shorkey, Donna (Bodine) Bay City, Michigan Donna passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2008 at Brian's House, at the age of 63. She was born February 7, 1945 in Bay City and graduate from Handy High School in 1964. As a homemaker, she enjoyed gardening, cards and walking in the woods with her husband while camping. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Larry and their two children: Larry Jr. (Mary) and Vickie (Roger Thomsen). Her grandchildren are: Sara, Matthew and Dustin Shorkey and Ryder Thomsen. Special mention Ashley Myers. Her great grandchildren are: Dakota and Adriana Shorkey and Brooklyn Garrett. Her surviving siblings are: Ilene (Robert) Darbee, Janet (Vincent) Ventimiglia, Norma Bodine and John Bodine. Her surviving in-laws are: Roberta (Jerry) VanAlst and Wil (Julie) Shorkey. The surviving nieces and nephews are: Dacia (Dave) Beazley, Mike (Stacy) Darbee, Julia (Don) Hundley, Renee (Jon) Mrozinski, Meissa Mularz, Jeff (Shannon) Shorkey, Todd (Maria) Shorkey, Pam VanAlst and Steve VanAlst. She was predeceased by her parents John Walter and Alvina (Arndt), her brother Allen, her mother and father-in-law: Robert and Elaine Shorkey. A special thanks from the family is extended to the staff and volunteers of Brian's House for the care and attention; as the staff of floor 3 East at the Bay Medical Center. A Service officiated by Chaplain Judy Wilcox will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. with burial following in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will be present at the funeral home to meet family and friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
