Funeral Home Obituary.
WILLIAM "BILL" BODINE. Bill was born on September 26, 1947 to Maurice and Anne 'Toots' Bodine. Bill attended Holy Redeemer, Madeline and Grant High school. A graduate of the class of 65', Bill was a captain on his football team. He went on to graduate with a degree in history from Portland State University in 1970. Bill worked for the Donald E. Long home for 33 years, retiring at the young age of 56. He held several positions while there and was one of the stars of his basketball team the "Bad Boys." He met his future wife Kathryn Torgerson in October of 1972, they married shortly thereafter on January 12, 1973. Bill and Kathy went on to have two children. Bill coached many of his kids (and grandchildren's!) teams, often being referred to as Coach Bill by the kids he coached and mentored. Sports all around were his pleasure activities; golf, kayaking, white water rafting, basketball, football, tennis and he was even a pretty awesome badminton player. His true passions were anything that had to do with the outdoors. Camping, back-packing, beach trips, Animal House weekends with the guys, sailing and many other adventures. He was able to experience one of his bucket list wishes when he visited Hawaii with his brother in 2019. Bill was a shining light to everyone he knew. He would often run into someone he knew when out and about. A wonderful Grandfather, he dove into that responsibility with such joy and love. Bill is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Keri and Scott Bossom. Son Jake Bodine and daughter-in-law, Angela Cameron. Four grandchildren, Cory, Mitch and Myah Bossom and Grandson, Willie Bodine. Bill is also survived by his sibling's Robert, Tracey and Sandi, numerous nephews and nieces, cousins and many, many friends that date back to high school. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Bridget and Pat. Bill joined his wife on January 2, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. A fighter until the end, Bill died peacefully with his family at his side.
