Notes for: James Albert Bodine

From Ronny Bodine:

In 1900, James Bodine was 26 and single, living with his parents in Mamakating, Sullivan County and working as a day laborer. On 12 Sept 1918, James Albert Bodine registered for the World War 1 draft in Monticello, Sullivan County, New York. He reported he was born 14 Feb 1874, was a self-employed gardner and painter and that Mary L. Bodine, his mother, was his next of kin. In 1920, James Bodine, 45 and single, lived in Mamakating, Sullivan County working as a house painter. His widowed brother George lived with him.

City directories for Middletown, NY for 1910 and 1914 list James A. Bodine as a resident there. Sullivan County and Orange County are adjacent and it appears James lived in both places at various times, perhaps depending upon the availability of jobs.

From New York Death Records:
James A. Bodine died 18 Dec 1929 in Middletown, Orange County.
