In 1920, Joe and Lillian Richardson lived in Oak Valley and in 1930 in Longton, Elk County, Kansas engaged in farming. In 1930, Lillian's 76-year old widowed mother lived with the family.

Joseph A. Richardson, 84, of 7845 Madison, died Sunday at the Jewish Geriatric and Convalescent Center. He was born in Longton, Kan., and had lived in this area 49 years. Mr. Richardson was a custodian at the DeLano School 10 years before he retired in 1965 and earlier worked for McPike Inc. He was a member of the Longton Baptist Church Home Bound Committee. He leaves two sons, Malcolm A. Richardson of the home, and John C. Richardson, Prairie Village; a daughter, Mrs. Ruth C. Hill, Kansas City; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Muehlebach Chapel; burial in Mount Moriah Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the chapel.
