STOCKTON---Kenneth Bodine, 79, died Thursday at home. Born in Lambertville, he had spent the last 43 years in Stockton. He spent 17 years training and showing horses in the Bucks County area for The Horses Farm, New Hope. Mr. Bodine was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Stockton for 40 years, serving as an Elder, Deacon and, for 19 years, a Clerk of Session. He was a 59-year member and past Grand of the Lambertville Odd Fellows and served as a representative on the Hunterdon County Juvenile Conference Committee. For Service to the Boy Scouts, church and community, he received the Silver Beaver Award in 1983 from George Washington Council Boy Scouts of America, the Spark Plug Award in May, 1979, and the Lifetime Achievement Award from Hunterdon Arrowhead District in May, 1989, all of which are scouting awards. Surviving are his wife, Phyllis Knoster Bodine; a son, Jay Kenneth Bodine of Stockton; a daughter, Judith Bodine Bird of Sergeantsville; a brother, Clarence Bodine of Lambertville; and four grandchildren. The funeral will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Deacons Fund, First Presbyterian Church of Stockton, 22 S. Main St., Stockton, 08559. Arrangements are under the direction of the Garefino Funeral Home, 10 N. Franklin St., Lambertville.

STOCKTON - Phyllis Knoster Bodine, also called Grandma Phyl, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006 at the Hunterdon Care Center in Raritan Township. She was 91. She was born in Lambertville, one of eight children to Phoebe and Christian Knoster. Mrs. Bodine was a longtime resident of Stockton. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Stockton since 1949, where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Women's Group and the Couples Club. She loved crafts and participated in the Hunterdon County Crafters Guild. For 19 years she was known as Grandma Phyl to all the children who attended the Sunny Day Nursery and Preschool in Stockton. Phyllis was married for 55 years to Kenneth Bodine. He died earlier, as did her two brothers, Earl and Ed Knoster. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Cathy Bodine; her daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Bob Bird; her grandchildren, Cindy Bodine, Kevin Bodine, Tami Aug and Patrick Bird; her great-grandchildren, Ryan and Benjamin Aug; four sisters, Winnie Lowe, Gladys Seeman, Ruth Zambello and Joyce Opdyke; and a brother, Dick Knoster. Graveside services at the Holcombe-Riverview Cemetery in Delaware Township were private, under the direction of the Garefino Funeral Home in Lambertville.
