On 10 Sept 1918, Cecil Lale Bodine, an employee of the Hercules Powder Company of Nitro, West Virginia, registered for the World War I draft in Kansas City, Missouri, naming Mrs. Lula Kerby of Kansas City as his next of kin. Cecil Bodine 1st married Pearl R. Middleton of Kansas City, age 19, daughter of William and Mattie Middleton, in 1922. Cecil's brother, Virgil Bodine, attested to Pearl being of age. The marriage ended in divorce before 1928 by which time Cecil had remarried. In 1928, Cecil married his 2nd wife, Mary, to whom he was married in April 1930 when he reported he and Mary had been married for 2 years. In 1930, Cecil and Mary Bodine lived in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota where Cecil reported his occupation as professional gambler. In 1936, Cecil married Ethel Powers in Shelbina, Shelby County, Mo as his 3rd wife and in 1938 married his 4th wife, Pauline Baines in Overland, St. Louis County. In 1942, Cecil Bodine married his 5th wife, Annie Marie Hopper. Although Cecil's obituary states he married his wife Marie in Kansas City, Kansas, the marriage actually took place in Kansas City, Missouri.

GODDARD - Marie Bodine, 78, died Nov. 20, 1984, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, after a long illness. Born Marie Kopf Oct. 27, 1906 at Derby, she married Cecil Bodine Oct. 10, 1942, at Kansas City, Kan. She had lived in Goddard for a month, moving from Phoenix, Ariz. Survivors: husband, of the home; father, William Kopf, Rago; and sister, Dorothy Foster, Goddard. Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Funeral Home, Harper. Funeral at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Patricks Catholic Church, Harper, Father David O'Leary. Burial at Harper Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 until 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. GODDARD---Cecil L. Bodine, 91, died Oct. 22, 1990, at Medical Lodge Nursing Home, Goddard. He was born Dec. 7, 1898. He was a stock broker. He was a member of the Catholic Church. On Oct. 10, 1942, he married Marie Bodine at Kansas City, Kan. She died Nov. 20, 1984. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Harper. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Funeral Chapel, Harper. Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and Thursday, and from 8 to 9 a.m. Friday at Elliott Funeral Home, Harper. Burial will be in Harper Cemetery.
