Robert F. May, 77, of Washington, died Monday, July 21, 2003, in St. Luke's Hospital in Fountain Hill. Born: April 24, 1926, in Philadelphia, the son of the late Frank and Marie O'Hay May. Personal: He and his wife, the former, Anna M. Bodine , were married for 54 years. Robert was a lineman for the New Jersey Power and Light and later an electrical engineer for the Jersey Central Power and Light for 35 years, retiring in 1982. He was also a certified real estate appraiser, a licensed real estate broker, a licensed insurance agent, a notary public of New Jersey and a title searcher. He was a 1944 graduate of Washington High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Lafayette College. Mr. May was a licensed small aircraft pilot. He served in the Navy during World War II. Memberships: He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Washington. He was also a member of the State Certified Real Estate Appraisers Association and International Electrical and Electronics Engineers Association. Survivors: His beloved, wife "Annie;" a son, Robert, and his wife, Diane L., of Hope; two daughters, Barbara A. Wolf, and her husband, Fred G., of Eatontown N.J., and Debra L. Bodine, and her husband, Thomas R., of Mount Bethel; a sister, Catherine May of Washington; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Alma Perry and Elizabeth Merrill, preceded him in death. Services: 10 a.m. Friday in the church, 116 E. Washington Ave., Washington, under the direction of The DeVoe Funeral Service, 136 W. Washington Ave., Washington. A cremation will follow the services. Memorials: to the church, Washington, NJ 07882.
