In 1900, Jessie Bodine, age 25 and single, lived with his parents in Warren County and worked as a farm laborer. On 12 Sept 1918, Jesse Weller Bodine registered for the World War I draft in Phillipsburg, Warren County. He reported he worked as a machine operator for the Ingersoll Rand Company in Phillipsburg and that his nearest kin was his father, Theodore Bodine, of Phillipsburg. In 1920, Jesse Bodine, age 42 and single, lived with his parents in Phillipsburg, Warren County, employed as a machinist at a steel works. In 1930, Jessie W. Bodine, age 55 and single, lived in Phillipsburg and now was taking care of his widowed mother. He was now employed as a machine operator with a mining supply company.

Jesse W. Bodine, 93, of 613 Elder Ave., Phillipsburg, died today in Warren Hospital where he was a patient 13 days. Born May 13, 1874 in Pleasant Valley, Washington R. D., he was a son of the late Theodore and Sarah Horn Bodine. He lived in the Phillipsburg area most of his life. Mr. Bodine was a retired employee of the drill department of the Ingersoll-Rand Co. where he was employed 25 years. In his early life he was a farmer. He resided with a niece, Miss Ruth Hamlen. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and attended Easton Bible Church. Survivors include nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Rupell Funeral Home, Phillipsburg.
